LB&B Donates Supplies to UNC Hospital

LB&B has worked hard to ensure the safety of our essential employees during COVID, including procuring hand sanitizer, gloves, disinfectant supplies and masks. LB&B’s VP Commercial Services Graham Thompson was in constant communication with Project Managers Michael Abner, Paul Cline and Barry Lee to share these resources to protect employees involved in essential operations.

We worked with distillers and transportation suppliers to acquire hand sanitizer as long as it was not competing with first responders, hospitals and nursing homes and took the initiative to produce homemade hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes at some sites.

When we heard that an LB&B employee’s daughter was exposed to a patient that tested positive for COVID while working at UNC Hospital, we felt compelled to help. The same week that she finished quarantining, LB&B received a shipment of hand sanitizer, gloves and masks. LB&B had sufficient stock so we donated the supplies to UNC Hospital. Her daughter returned to work to hear how thankful the nurses were to receive these hard-to-find supplies, including N95 masks.

LB&B is proud to do its part to assist the safety of essential and frontline workers at LB&B and beyond.

NAS Fallon Receives Fuel Activity of the Year Award

Naval Supply Systems Command announced that NAS Fallon’s Fuel Farm, operated by LB&B, was the Navy Retail Fuel Activity of the Year selected by the Excellence in Naval Fuel Management Recognition Program for its outstanding operational record and mission accomplishments. It also received accolades for zero findings during the DLA’s Inspector General inspection where CDR Jakubowicz noted the pride reflected in all spaces maintained by LB&B.

NAS Fallon is the NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center’s premier facility responsible for the safe handling of 31M gallons of fuel and 23,400 aircraft refuelings annually. Home to the Naval Fighter Weapons School (Top Gun), NAS Fallon provides training for carrier air groups, special operations forces, and squadrons nationwide from all military branches.

“We're honored to be recognized for our hard work and dedication,” said terminal manager Cesar Gutierrez. “We maintain facilities with pride and professionalism. Fuel handling is serious business. We're committed to performing our duties efficiently and in the safest way possible.”

Global Public Safety (a subsidiary of LB&B) Is Essential & Operating at Full Capacity

Global Public Safety is an essential business that remains open and operating at full capacity in each of our locations. Since the COVID-19 outbreak earlier this year, Global Public Safety has implemented social distancing and physical safety practices to protect our customers and employees from the health risks associated with the coronavirus.

Our employees are all given personal protective equipment to do their jobs safely. Every vehicle that comes through our facilities is thoroughly cleaned and inspected for officer safety and quality control.

Our Global Public Safety family would like to thank our clients for all you do as first responders and public safety providers. We want you to know that despite the adversity our nation faces Global is stronger than ever.

We will NOT be applying for government assistance. We have millions of dollars in products that are ready to be installed and our suppliers are still fulfilling new orders daily.

We’re still hiring. We’re still working. And still serving those that serve us.

LB&B Provides Mission Critical Services during COVID-19

In March, the Department of Defense deemed contractors “critical infrastructure” and the US Navy deemed training “mission essential.” During this crisis, LB&B has continued providing instructor services to all US Navy ships globally and aircraft pilot and aircrew training on the East Coast. We maintain complex mission critical simulators for the P-3/P-8 Simulation Training Facilities and operate and maintain the Defense Information School at Fort Meade.

LB&B adapted to this rapidly changing environment while performing essential services to support training of thousands of military personnel daily. We established plans, procedures and policies upfront to complete our mission safely. We reduced class sizes, established distancing techniques and sanitizing procedures, and obtained hard-to-find products to clean spaces and personal protective equipment. For safety, our team was self-quarantined on several occasions.

Thank you to all of our employees who have been relentless, dedicated, and working tirelessly on the front lines to support our military customers' vital mission to maintain readiness.
