🏡 AIRBNB CLEANERS, WE NEED TO TALK! 😳
Airbnb just announced new checkout rules, and I'm curious what everyone thinks!
Apparently, hosts can no longer require guests to wash and put away dishes, strip the beds, start laundry, or take the trash out. Guests can be asked to put dishes in the sink, gather towels, and sort their trash into designated bins.
Now, I understand guests are on vacation, and I'm all for reasonable expectations. But as someone who cleans vacation rentals, I've seen some things that would make your jaw drop! 😂
My concern is this: What happens when guests take these new rules as permission to leave an absolute disaster behind?
We've dealt with some pretty crazy situations, and I've already had owners ask about raising their checkout expectations because of what we've walked into.
We cleaners are the ones who have to get those properties ready for the next guests, sometimes with very little time between checkouts and check-ins.
I'm honestly a little nervous about what some of these turnovers might look like going forward. 😬
🧹 Fellow house cleaners and Airbnb hosts, I want your honest opinions!
• Do you think this is fair to guests but unfair to the people doing the cleaning?
• Should cleaning fees increase to cover the extra time?
• Have you already had a checkout that made you question humanity? 😂
Let's hear it! Because I have a feeling this is going to be an interesting discussion!
