As we enter the Fall season, make sure you remember to give your home some TLC!
1. Declutter and deep clean. After the hustle and bustle of Summer, our homes could always use some tidying up to make our home more cozy for the Holiday season!
2. Check gutters and downspouts after rain to ensure water is flowing away from the house. If the gutters and downspouts get backed up with leaves and debris, it can cause water to overflow and damage may be caused to your foundation.
3. Test smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms, ensuring that the batteries are new and that they are operable!
4. Trim shrubs, bushes, and trees and pull up your annual plants before you mulch around your perennials to overall enhance curb appeal!
5. Have your HVAC serviced to prevent any surprises during the cold months!
6. Clean your fireplace and chimney. Fireplaces and chimneys should be inspected and cleaned every 50 uses to ensure that it is safe and ready to use!
7. Check windows and doors for leaks so that you could save on bills as the weather cools down!
8. Remove any summer décor and replace it with holiday and seasonal-appropriate décor.
This isn't a complete list, but will definitely get you well on your way to having a comfortable and safe home for the Holidays!
