There are multiple ways to purchase a property that is in foreclosure before the foreclosure is completed. There are also ways how NOT to do it. The best way to do it is generally to negotiate with the owner and all parties that have an interest in the property, to obtain a conveyance and/or release of their interests in the property.

Real Property Taxation Bills future remains uncertain as the Ohio House of Representatives unanimously rejected the Ohio Senate's amended version of House Bill 126 that would have changed Ohio law to only allow school boards to file complaints to increase value in response to a complaint to reduce value. That Bill now heads to a Conference Committee with select members of the House and Senate set to determine its fate.

Jon Lindahl presented today to a group about the differences between a Homeowner's Policy of Title Insurance issued by Omni Title LLC and "title monitoring" subscription services.

A Homeowner's Policy protects your interest in the property for as long as you own your home against fraud and forgery, among many other title issues, and will even cover the attorney fees to defend you in court. Title monitoring is not insurance and will not cover the financial burden of title issues or fraud.

Plus, if you live in Franklin or Delaware County (and many other Ohio Counties), you can get notifications about changes in the title to your home for FREE though the county recorder's websites:
