🥶 Protect your home with these tips 🥶
❄️ Protect Your Plumbing During Freezing Temperatures! 💧
Cold weather is coming and can wreak havoc on your plumbing. A few simple steps can help you avoid frozen pipes and costly repairs:
1️⃣ Let Your Faucets Drip:
• Keep a small trickle of water running, especially for pipes along exterior walls. Moving water is less likely to freeze!
2️⃣ Open Cabinet Doors:
• Allow warm air to circulate around pipes under sinks, especially in kitchens and bathrooms.
3️⃣ Insulate Exposed Pipes:
• Wrap pipes in unheated areas like basements, crawl spaces, attics, or garages with pipe insulation or heat tape.
4️⃣ Disconnect and Drain Outdoor Hoses:
• Remove and store hoses, and shut off the water supply to outdoor faucets. Use faucet covers for extra protection.
5️⃣ Know Where Your Shut-Off Valve Is:
• In case of a burst pipe, you’ll want to shut off your water supply quickly to minimize damage.
Taking these precautions can save you from a plumbing disaster. If you need assistance winterizing your pipes or handling frozen pipes, we’re here to help!
