This is one of several reasons why getting a home inspection is so important. This was discovered in the crawl space of a home I am currently helping a client to purchase. As a homebuyer it’s normal to be excited about countertops, updated bathrooms, flooring, paint colors etc. Those are all great things to look for when purchasing a home, but don’t forget to have the entire home inspected. I can’t tell you how many times I have seen hidden problems in crawl spaces and attics. Other items to make sure you have inspected are electrical outlets, breakers, plumbing, HVAC, roof, and foundation.
