This morning’s closing was a special one for Doug Blackburn

Doug has known the buyer for close to 10 years. They served in the military at different times, and different branches, but they shared plenty of conversations, motorcycle rides, and life since then.

They actually started looking for a home about two years ago. Covering a lot of rural Ohio trying to find the right place, but it just wasn’t the right time. Rather than force something that didn’t feel right, they decided to wait.

Earlier this year they started looking again. More back roads, more acreage, more miles in the car, and this time they found it.

It’s always rewarding helping someone buy a home, but it’s even better when it’s someone you’ve known for years.

All home buying journeys are special for many different reasons. This journey was special because Patrick is my (Teri) son-in-law’s brother, our family has become close to theirs over the past 11 years or so, and they have had their eyes set on a very specific Gahanna neighborhood where they have a community of dear friends.
