Improving your bottom line and achieve true freedom in life
By Greg Schenk Schenktraining.com
One my biggest goals to become financially secure. Having accomplished that years ago really opened my eyes many things. First most people in life have never been taught financial literacy.
So I'd like to help you get a foundation for lifelong success !
The first step is to actually have a written goal !
Do you have written goals ? Kind of tough to reach them if they are just a dream and not well thought out and in writing .
In my seminars I find 90% people don't have written goal so first step improving your bottom line and becoming financially secure is to know what you actually want in life and have it detailed out in writing .
Let me give you an example . Growing up my parents divorced when I was at a young age. I didn't want to be burden to my mother so I worked two jobs thru high school . One job was a golf caddy. Now being a golf caddy is a great summer job because you get to be outside ,and meet new a lot of successful people ! Being around successful people made me think about what I wanted in life ,what my goals were going to be in life! After a few years of caddying I decided my goals in life were : get a scholarship to college,to buy myself a condo ,earned $100,000 a year and have a Mercedes-Benz all before I was 30 years old.
Happy to say I did all that by the time I was 28 from starting with nothing! My friends use to laugh at me when I kept chanting ( 100, condo and a Benz )
well they are not laughing now !

So how do you get there? After you've set your goals in writing which are personal to you and or your family ,the next thing you need to do is pay yourself first. What do I mean by that? Whether you make $50,000 or $250,000 a year put aside a minimum of 10% per paycheck and pay yourself first ,invest in yourself for your financial security. Whether it's in stocks ,bonds ,mutual funds , or real estate is really secondary what matters is you start doing it regularly.
My example here is when I first was out of college I had a company car, instead of blowing that $300/month I pretended like that was my car payment and invested monthly in a mutual fund . Four years later that is what I ended up living on while I started my straight commission career in commercial real estate .
Next is to live under your means. Most people that I know live well above their means . They have too big of a house,a big mortgage payment and many credit card bills. This is something you need to tackle right away if you want to be financially secure and improve your bottom line. Look at everything you have in life and then look at what's really important to you? What I have found is material things don't really bring happiness in life . Once you get to that point and realize that and say to yourself I can have a nice home ,a nice car and still save and put money away you're so much ahead of 99% of the population . Your on your way to improve your bottom line and become financially secure. ( I have a great book list to help )
For some people this takes years to get through their head ,for some people it means going through bankruptcy ,credit card debt and all kinds of other financial problems until they understand and learn the truth. Growing up working two jobs through high school and college taught me the value of a dollar and a good work ethic.
Like many others in life I wanted the bigger house ,the nicer car and all the material things . Well when the new Mercedes convertible came out I had to have it all $122,000 of it . (remember it was one of my first goals in life from my time caddying ).
But after paying car payment 2200/month for two years I realized it didn't really bring me the happiness that I thought it would. Only after I looked myself in the mirror and said what is truly important in life? "to me"it is the power to do :what you want ,when you want with whom you want ,having choices ! i.e.
Being financially secure, that is when you'll find true freedom and choices in life !

Start today, don't delay , start small ,talk with your family about it . Look at every area you spend money and I am positive you will find many areas you can cut back or cut out and not really change your quality of life, ie that $5 latte each day, eating out so much, logo shirts etc . For me it was a protein shake and power bar for $8/ day at gym until I realized that last year I spent over $1,000 just on that ! So look at each area, make small changes today and I promise you your life will change for the better! Mine did over time as I became financially secure by buying one property per year for 20 straight years by living under my means , investing the difference and now I travel the world helping others learn grow and prosper!
Hoping you start now in your goals to get a foundation for life long success !
