NERD ALERT !! During our volunteer work day today with Friends of Goodale Park, I noticed 3 trees on the south side of the park along Goodale Blvd that were loaded with PAWPAWS. The pawpaw (Asimina triloba) is North America’s largest edible native tree fruit. The fruit has a wonderful creamy texture and a tropical flavor. Although almost forgotten now, it was a main food source for Ohio settlers in the early 19th century. The fruit is typically fully ripe by mid-September, so if you're in the area around that time and want some free PAWPAWS help yourself.
