April marks World Autism Month, a time dedicated to amplifying voices, sharing stories, and fostering greater understanding and acceptance within the autism community.
To commemorate World Autism Understanding Day on April 2nd, our Cushman & Wakefield LEAD and UNITY Employee Resource Group ambassadors collaborated to host an event at our Sydney office with Aspect (Autism Spectrum Australia). It was an honor to welcome Tom Tutton, Ainslie Robinson, Janice Clarkson, and Josan Abels, for an enriching afternoon tea and a profound dialogue on Autism, alongside exploring the intersectionality between the LGBTQIA+ and Autism communities.
Throughout the event, we were privileged to gain insights not only from the latest statistics but also from the personal experiences of Autistic people and their families, showcasing the diverse and unique journeys within the community. This engagement undoubtedly deepened our understanding, awareness towards autism spectrum disorders.
During the month of May, Cushman & Wakefield Australia have committed to walking 7,000 steps a day, to support autistic Australians. Every step you take, along with every dollar raised will help create an autism-friendly world. A world where Autistic people feel comfortable and free to be their authentic selves.
