Carol Sue Pankratz of Comfort passed away on Thursday, April 11th at the age of 77 years. Carol was born on August 2, 1946 in the Fredericksburg, Texas hospital, and within just a few days was back at home in Comfort with her parents Joseph Joe and Marie Francis Listvan

New changes starting January 2nd through Boerne heading east, towards San Antonio

TxDOT IH-10 Kendall Extension project in Boerne, Kendall Co. - Complete Closure Eastbound Frontage near US-87 (January 3, 2022)

As part of the ongoing IH-10 frontage road construction the contractor is progressing into the next stage of construction which will require the complete closure of the existing Eastbound Frontage road from Menger Springs to US-87 (Main St.) in order to construct the new Eastbound Frontage Road approaching US-87.

On behalf of the Texas Department of Transportation, this is to provide advance notice of this work that is scheduled to start on Monday January 3, 2022 at 9:00 AM, weather permitting.

This will allow TxDOT’s contractor to construct the new Eastbound Frontage Road and new US-87 Southbound bridge approach work. Estimated completion Spring 2022.

DETOUR: Eastbound Frontage Road traffic will be detoured at the new Eastbound Entrance ramp onto IH-10 and will return to the Eastbound Frontage Road using the Exit 543 Scenic Loop exit.

My name is Dr. Chad Alan Carpenter, and I am running for Kendall County Commissioner, Pct. 4. My family and I live near Sisterdale, having moved from Comfort in 2009. My wife and I own businesses in both Comfort and Boerne for more than 21 years.

I was born in Killeen, TX while my dad was stationed at Ft. Hood. I started kindergarten in San Antonio and moved all over the US but eventually moved to Big Spring, TX where I graduated high school. I took prerequisite coursework at Howard College and finished my professional studies at Parker University in Dallas, where I graduated with a Doctor of Chiropractic with a Bachelors in Anatomy.

While at Parker University, I met my wife, Dr. Kerri Steubing (daughter of Royce and Dolores Steubing of Comfort, TX) and we married in 1999. After graduating in 1999, we moved back to Kerri's hometown of Comfort and started Comfort Chiropractic. In 2002 we opened our Boerne location.

We have three boys. Rhett is a freshman at Blinn College and is married to Masie Buck Carpenter. Chance is 14 and is a freshman at Comfort High School. Gunner is 12 and in 6th grade at Comfort Middle School.

There has been and always will be a need for change. As a father, husband, and business owner, I can no longer sit on the sidelines and watch the decline of our country. Change starts in the local community. I am beyond willing to stand up and answer the cry for change.
