Enjoy Where You Live

We spend so much time thinking about what needs to be done next—the laundry, the yard, the errands, the never-ending to-do list.

But sometimes it’s nice to simply look around and appreciate where we are.

A cup of coffee on the deck.
A walk through the neighborhood.
Flowers blooming in the yard.
The sound of birds chirping.
Dinner on the patio with people you love.

Those are the little things that turn a house into a home.

So today, forget the home improvement list for a few hours and just enjoy your home. Michigan summers are far too short!

Mortgage-rate update

Affordability remains the biggest headwind. Freddie Mac’s benchmark 30-year fixed mortgage averaged 6.69% for the week ending August 6, up from 6.66% the previous week and reaching its highest level in roughly a year.

August is a great time to give your home a quick once-over before summer starts winding down.

Take 10 minutes this weekend to check a few things:

🌿 Trim shrubs or branches touching the house.
💧 Look around outdoor faucets and hoses for small leaks.
❄️ Make sure your A/C unit is clear of leaves and debris.
🚪 Check weatherstripping around exterior doors.
🌸 And while you’re outside… enjoy those flowers before Michigan summer disappears on us!
