It's lake season! There's nothing better than enjoying a day at the lake. But don't let a fun day turn sour by coming home to bugs at your lake house!

Using these tips to prevent bugs, you'll make sure your home is free of pests when you wind down for the day.

1. Mosquitoes. These pesky things can be deterred with a ceiling fan, screens, and citronella plants. Additionally, avoid standing water, which is where they lay eggs.

2. Mayflies. Installing yellow lights and keeping your yard clean will help keep these away.

3. Roaches and ants. One of the most common pest issues is roaches and ants, which can be prevented by throwing away food, sealing door and window gaps, and keeping a foot of space between your home and shrubs, mulch, or trees.
