People keep asking us how the roads are. ALL roads in Jackson County are hazardous at this time. The county Road Department and GDOT have been out treating the roadways. Even with them doing this, the mush re-freezes. We HIGHLY encourage everyone to stay at home and off the roadways.

Due to the snow fall this afternoon and forecasted freezing temperatures overnight, the Jackson County School System will be closed Wednesday, January 22. All extracurricular activities are also cancelled.

Banks County Schools will release students at 1 p.m. today, January 21, as a precaution against the impending winter weather. Buses will drop off students approximately two hours earlier than their regular afternoon drop-off time. There will be no afterschool activities.
