As you may know by now, there are more buyers house hunting than there are home on the market. This means good news for sellers since it is likely that your home will get more attention & more offers. 🏘

Although many blame the housing shortage on the pandemic, it was not the sole cause. While it did delay some sellers from putting their house on the market, this has been brewing for years. 📆

The low supply coincides with the decrease in new homes being built. Looking long-term, there has been a decrease in the construction of single-family homes. Even if there was a dramatic increase in new homes built, it would still take a long time before the under-building gap is closed. 🔨

There is beginning to be an increase in new home construction; however, these homes cannot solely fix the shortage we are currently facing. Looking at existing homes, there is a gradual increase in inventory each month. 📈
