THE SCAMMERS ARE SCAMMING
Someone stole the photos of one of our houses for sale and is advertising it online as a rental. A rent seeker lost some money and contacted me to confirm it was for rent-it is NOT for rent. Luckily, they didn't lose thousands, just a $50 deposit but these days every penny counts.
Unfortunately, this is happening everywhere and scammers are in pursuit so here's a few reminders of things to be aware of when looking for a rental.:
My number one piece of advice-stay off Craigslist!
• Never send money through Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, Zelle, wire transfer, gift cards, or any other payment app before verifying the listing.
• Always see the property in person.
• If the rent seems too good to be true, it definitely is.
• When in doubt, call the listing brokerage directly.
* Double check the rental address through Google, if it's listed for sale it isn't for rent.
