Ron was very professional and thorough during the entire transaction. After gathering necessary data, Ron provided a valuation for my business. Once we came to agreement on a listing price, he quickly put my business on the market and had immediate results.

During negotiations with one buyer, Ron convinced me to entertain discussions with a second buyer, who ultimately purchased my business for full list price. Here’s the link to an interesting article from BizBuySell giving insights into the small business marketplace and the impact of Covid 19 on sales. Although their perspective on the first quarter I think may be bullish due to the lag effect of the pandemic, the rest of the article is very interesting and aligns with my thoughts and observations.

Those of you who are buying or selling should take a few minutes and read this. Buyers be sure to read about the SBA Debt Relief Program. Both parties should pay attention to the Q1 2020 Small Business Value section regarding negotiating a price during this time.

Successful Sale- True Value Hardware Store
I am pleased to announce the successful sale of Scotty’s True Value hardware store in South Lake Tahoe, California. The sellers were looking to retire after 50 years and two generations of ownership. Their primary concern was finding a person that could carry on the reputation of the store in this tight knit Sierra Nevada community at market price before their lease was up for renewal.

Listed the first week of July 2019, the sale was completed the second week of January 2020. Successfully identified candidate with good qualifications with terms 3% off of full list price with 9 months to spare. On to the next listing….
