The beautiful fall weather makes it easy to forget that colder days—and eventually snow—are right around the corner! 🍂🏡 A little preparation now can make those first cold New Hampshire days a whole lot easier.

A few things worth getting done while the weather is still nice:

🍁 Clean out the gutters
🔥 Have your heating system checked or serviced
🪟 Check windows and doors for drafts
💧 Disconnect and put away outdoor hoses
🚨 Test smoke & carbon monoxide detectors
❄️ Give the snow blower a tune-up and make sure it starts
🧹 Pull out the snow shovels and snow brooms and move them somewhere easy to grab
🧂 Check your supply of ice melt/sand before everyone is looking for it!

It may feel a little early to think about snow while we’re still enjoying these beautiful fall days, but we all know how quickly New Hampshire weather can change! 🍁➡️❄️ What’s always on your fall home checklist?

There’s always that one little thing that makes it feel like fall has officially arrived. 🍂 Maybe it’s the first cool morning, putting on a favorite sweater, seeing that first splash of color in the trees, or trading iced coffee for something warm. ☕🍁

And this is such a beautiful time to get out and enjoy New Hampshire! Take a hike in the White Mountains, go for a scenic ride along the Kancamagus Highway, or simply slow down with a warm apple c***r and take in the changing colors. 🥾🍎🍂

For me, it’s watching those beautiful colors slowly start to appear. What’s the first thing that makes YOU say, “Okay, fall is here”? 😊

How is it already the middle of September?
🍂 I started the summer with a list of things I wanted to get done around the house and yard, and somehow a few of them are still staring at me. 😄

The good news is, we still have some beautiful warm days ahead of us—perfect for finishing up the painting, landscaping, deck projects or all those little things we said we'd get to “this summer.” 🔨🌿🏡
