This is true, it’s not some sensational news article.
Builders have already been paying higher wages for the contractors to show up. They’re also paying bonuses just to obtain the labor.

Mark my words, here within a month or two, New Construction prices are going to slightly increase to cover these costs. It’s very similar to what happened in 2020-2022, but simply under different circumstances.

Houston’s construction industry is feeling the strain of a growing labor shortage, as immigration enforcement pushes workers off job sites and out of the state.

Well… this one is a little different & I’ve been pretty quiet about this one. 🥹

Flock cameras in Harris County's Precinct Four are officially shut off and covered up.

Precinct 4 Commissioner Lesley Briones announced on Thursday that she directed her staff to "decommission and cover all Flock cameras installed on Precinct 4 property." That includes 13 automatic license plate readers and 48 security cameras across nine parks and facilities.

In a news release, Commissioner Briones says locals raised concerns about "outside-agency access, vendor disclosure authority, improper searches by authorized users, and retention of downloaded records after the original data expires."

She then says that Flock cameras can be "useful tools, but private ownership of the data and the use of AI present serious issues."

In memory of Deputy Sandeep Singh Dhaliwal: On September 27, 2019, Deputy Sandeep Dhaliwal was fatally shot during a traffic stop. He was known for his sense of humor and ability to make personal connections with his fellow deputies and the community he served.

In 2015, Deputy Dhaliwal received permission to wear his turban and beard in keeping with his Sikh religious faith, paving the way for others to do the same.

In 2017, Deputy Dhaliwal led a very successful effort by the United Sikhs of America to collect and distribute aid to those impacted by Hurricane Harvey. He also traveled to Puerto Rico on a post-hurricane aid mission.

Deputy Dhaliwal’s teammates describe him as being a vibrant and energetic deputy. He was known for his sense of humor and ability to make personal connections with his fellow deputies and the community he served. Deputy Dhaliwal is the 45th Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputy to die in the line of duty.

Gone but never forgotten.
