Why Chimneys Lean Away from a structure.

A chimney weighs several thousand pounds and requires its own dedicated concrete footing. When a chimney tilts away from the siding, it is almost always caused by foundation settlement. The soil beneath the outermost edge of the footing softens, compacts, or erodes, causing the heavy structure to tip outward.

U.S. fire departments respond to an annual average of 12,141 home fires involving grills, hibachis, or barbecues, according to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)

Leading Causes of BBQ Fires

• Failure to clean grease and food residue.
• Placing the grill too close to something that can catch fire (like house siding, deck railings, or overhanging branches).
• Leaving the grill unattended while cooking.
• Gas leaks or hose breaks (common with propane/gas grills).
