Here is the schedule for the 4th of July fun!
Coos County is lighting up the sky all across the county this Independence Day weekend, from the bay to the lakes to the Coquille River, and all the way up the South Fork to Powers.

It starts Friday, July 3, with Blast by the Bay at Ko-Kwel Casino Resort in Coos Bay, widely called the largest fireworks display on the Oregon Coast. The event area opens at 7 PM in the North Parking Lot at 3201 Tremont Street, with food and beverage concessions running through the evening. Fireworks launch at dusk, around 10 PM, over the entrance to the Marshfield Channel.
Canโt get onto casino property? You donโt have to miss a beat. K-DOCK 92.9 FM will simulcast the entire show, with the fireworks choreographed to music broadcasting live on the air. That means wherever youโre watching from around the bay, you can tune in and get the full synchronized experience. This marks 16 years running that K-DOCK has been part of Blast by the Bay.
A free shuttle will run between Pony Village Mall and the casino from 7 PM to midnight, picking up and dropping off on the south end near Pony Village Cinema.

Round two comes Saturday, July 4, when the City of Coos Bay hosts its own fireworks show at dusk over the bay. The best viewing spot is the Coos Bay Boardwalk, though the show can be seen from multiple points around the water. Daytime festivities center on Mingus Park, with the Boy Scoutsโ hamburger stand, Smokey Bear and the Coos Forest Protective Association, an ODFW fishing pond, art booths and more running from 11 AM to 2 PM. Free swimming at the Mingus Park Pool follows from 2 to 4 PM.

Down south in Bandon, the Fourth is a full day of celebration in Old Town and along the Coquille River waterfront. The parade kicks off at 10 AM down Highway 101 and through Old Town. From there, the day fills up fast. The Co****le Tournament and live music run from 11 AM at the Bandon Fisheries Warehouse, Ice Cream and Apple Pie is served at the Port of Bandon waterfront at 11:30 AM, the Cardboard Boat Regatta launches at noon, and BBQ at the Post follows the parade at 55352 Bates Road. Old Town Tap and Grill hosts free live music starting at noon as well. As evening sets in, the Alive After Five Wine Walk winds through Old Town at 5 PM, with ticketed live music back at the Bandon Fisheries Warehouse from 6 to 9 PM. The Port of Bandon Boardwalk Art Show runs all weekend long. The night caps off at sundown with the Grand Fireworks Display over the Coquille River near the lighthouse. Best viewing is from the south side of the river.

Over at Tenmile Lake in Lakeside, the Fourth means an Independence Day beach party with fireworks over the water at dusk. The Tenmile Lakes Association has been part of organizing the on-lake fireworks effort. Locals say watching from a boat gives you three shows at once, the fireworks overhead, the reflection on the lake, and the sound rolling across the water. For those staying on shore, the beach party at the lake makes for a front row seat to the show.

And up the South Fork Coquille in Powers, the Fourth falls right in the middle of White Cedar Days, the small logging townโs biggest event of the year. Sponsored by the Powers Lions Club, the three day celebration runs July 3 through 5 and includes a parade, the Loggers Shodeo, a 5K and 10K run, live music, and plenty of small town tradition. Fireworks go off at dusk on the Fourth, capping off a day built around community and Powersโ timber heritage.
