Today marks one of the most significant changes to condominium financing in years.

Fannie Mae has officially eliminated the “Limited Review” process for condominium loans. Going forward, most condominium purchases financed with conventional loans will require a Full Project Review.

What does this mean?

✅ Lenders will take a much deeper look at a condominium association’s:
• Financial statements and budgets
• Reserve funding
• Insurance coverage
• Deferred maintenance
• Special assessments
• Overall financial health

This means that the financial strength of the condominium association has become more important than ever.

For buyers, the financing process may take longer and require additional documentation.
