When a loved one passes, we so often find ourselves trapped in the quiet ache of lingering questions—“What if?”, “Should I have?”, “Why didn’t I?” But today, I have no questions. I am only filled with an overwhelming, profound gratitude.
I am grateful because every single interaction we shared with Deborah Boza-Valledor was pure and genuine. I am grateful because every single conversation came straight from the heart.
I am so deeply thankful for the beautiful routine we shared: how every single time Ed and I walked into a room, you would stop absolutely everything you were doing—even pausing mid-sentence with - just to greet us and take a picture. You always proudly declared us the “Fashionistas of Real Estate,” eager to report back to your sister, Tere, exactly what we were wearing. Those moments brought us so much joy.
I am especially grateful for our very last visit with you. Because you knew we were coming, you were watching the documentary of your favorite designer, Ralph Lauren. You told us that my fashion style reminded you so much of his elegance and timeless statement—a compliment I will cherish forever.🥰
I am endlessly grateful that out of all your personal belongings, you chose my Notorious RBG cup to take with you to the ALF. I know it wasn’t just because of your deep love and admiration for Ruth Bader Ginsburg, but because you knew it was made with pure love. ❤️
Most of all, I am grateful that every single one of our conversations ended with a warm, “We love you,” and your faithful, tender response: “I love you both, too.”
You may no longer be physically here with us, but your beautiful spirit, your warmth, and your love will live inside of our hearts forever.
Love always, The Boatengs 🥰
