Real estate agents, contractors, home inspectors, roofers, AC technicians, electricians, plumbers, movers, property managers, office managers, engineers — these relationships matter. The more connected you are within your local real estate community, the more valuable you become to your clients.
I recently completed an appraisal for an out-of-state investor relocating his family to South Florida. During the process, he kept asking, “Do you know a good engineer?” “Do you know a home inspector?” “Do you know a contractor?” Fortunately, I did. I was able to connect him with several professionals I know and trust because of years spent networking and building relationships. As appraisers, clients often view us as local market experts. When you can provide reliable referrals and resources beyond the appraisal itself, you create stronger relationships, more trust, and often more repeat business. Your network is one of the most valuable assets you can build in this industry.
