I love it when Urbies come together to make great things happen! Together we're supporting this exciting Next Stage campaign for the City of North Liberty's Centennial Park and are the reason one of the green rooms is going to be orange! 😁

You know I’m all about the 🎂 one way or another!! 🤣 If I’m not baking them to donate I’m volunteering with my Iowa City Rotary Club Downtown to create birthday bags at CommUnity Crisis Services. Each bag contains everything a family needs to host a child’s birthday party for 8 guests, including cake ingredients, a book, and a pass for the The Iowa Children's Museum. Our club has been making these bags as its service project for years now, and it’s eye-opening how many our community uses. Just one of the many reasons I am proud to be a Rotarian!

If you didn’t already know, one of my hobbies is baking. I enjoy finding outlets for my desire to bake, and supporting local organizations like Summer of the Arts is one of my favorite ways to do it. I hope you’ll come to the Holiday Thieves Market this December 9-10 and consider bidding on my silent auction cake, or any of the other, and pick up some great gifts for your holidays.

The Holiday Thieves Market is getting closer and closer, which means the silent auction will soon be ready to take your bids and a place in you homes.

Our next item is a tasty treat straight from your wildest imagination: a custom cake courtesy of Summer of the Arts board member Natasha Wendt. Natasha baking skills are second to none, and can bring almost any design or idea into a delicious reality.

The cake featured in this photo may look familiar. Natasha made it to resemble the oldest Gato brother, Gordito, to celebrate his adoption. The smile made in icing was only matched by those who saw it in person.
