🇺🇸 SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 — 25 YEARS LATER 🇺🇸
It’s hard to believe it has been 25 years.
Like so many Americans, I can still remember exactly where I was when the news came.
I was working at the bank that morning, getting ready to close another loan. It seemed like an ordinary Tuesday—another workday, another appointment, another day of life moving forward.
And then everything changed.
We watched in disbelief as the events of September 11, 2001 unfolded. The images, the uncertainty, the heartbreak, and the realization that our nation would never quite be the same are memories that have stayed with me for 25 years.
Today, I remember the 2,977 lives that were taken. I honor the firefighters, police officers, first responders, military members, and ordinary Americans who demonstrated extraordinary courage. I remember the families whose lives were forever changed that morning and in the years that followed.
And I remember how, in the midst of unimaginable tragedy, Americans came together. We prayed together. We grieved together. We helped our neighbors. We flew our flags. And for a season, the things that divided us seemed so much smaller than the things that united us.
Twenty-five years later, may we never forget the lives lost, the heroes who ran toward danger, the sacrifices made, or the unity we discovered in the days that followed.
May God continue to comfort those who carry the scars of that day, bless those who serve and protect us, and bless the United States of America. 🇺🇸
