I'm sure most everyone has heard about the Equifax Data Breach lately! I don't understand why this information isn't being broadcast more widely, but I saw a news story this morning about how to "Check Potential Impact", to see if Equifax "thinks" you may personally be at risk for this breach...
I recommend you follow these simple steps:
1: go to equifaxsecurity2017.com
2: read the info, or not, and then scroll to the bottom and click on the red box that says "CHECK POTENTIAL IMPACT"
3: enter your last name and the last 6 digits of your social security number, and click 'I am not a robot'
4: you will then see a paragraph stating whether or not Equifax believes you are part of the breach!
5: whether you are or you are not, I recommend you go ahead and sign up for their free one year enrollment of credit protection. They don't even ask for a credit card (as well they should NOT). And they will not automatically charge you to continue the service in one year.
