We truly enjoyed feeding the Corolla Beach Rescue “kids” after their Friday morning training. Many hands makes light work. Big thanks to the following folks in The Currituck Club Community who helped make this morning possible in one way or another: Tere Haslup, Diane Flynn, Christina Louise, Alexandra Khan (and Rob), Sonja Harrison Horner, Ann Pion Shrum, and my hubby John who is not on FaceBook. Special thanks to Denise Lewis for spearheading these Friday Breakfasts. The rescue folks work hard through all the weather - 🥵, 🌧️, 💨. The “kids” are so appreciative of the support.

And what a lucky surprise when Doug, a N.E.S.T. (Network for Endangered Sea Turtles) ATV driver rode by with MY sign on his ATV!

We have such a great community. My heart is full today.

The Currituck County Board of Commissioners is exploring options to better manage vehicular traffic on the 4x4 beaches, including a potential transition from the current Parking Permit system to a technology-based Access Pass system. NBPA invites you to participate in this brief anonymous survey, which takes just 3–5 minutes to complete. Your feedback will help inform future decisions and will be shared with the Currituck County Board of Commissioners. Last day for submission is July 31.

So glad to help support the hard working volunteers and efforts NEST does for turtles all year long.

🐢💚 Every morning during nesting season, before most people are awake, our ATV volunteers are already on the beach searching for sea turtle tracks, checking marked nests, and helping protect the next generation of sea turtles.

These sunrise patrols are made possible thanks to the support of businesses and individuals who believe in our mission.
