What a roller coaster ride this deal was. Feel free to read my little story about it.

This property had been sitting on the market for a few years with some of Orange County’s top agents.

Back in August, I cold called the seller and pitched him on our luxury auction platform, he was open to giving the process a shot after selling traditionally had not been effective for him.

We listed the property with an opening bid price of $2,000,000 and generated a ton of interest, but after three weeks of showing and many offers, we still hadn’t gotten an offer at the sellers reserve price.

On the final open house, we did not have a single person show up. At the end of the open house, I locked the door and started walking towards my car, until a couple stopped me and asked if I could still show them the house, and of course I went back and showed them. They ended up telling me it wasn’t a good fit for them, which was a bummer. But as I was talking with them, another couple walked in.

I toured the second couple around the complex and the unit for about an hour, and next thing you know, we opened escrow with them the following week.

Nearly two months later, we are now closed.
