📚 Teach Me Tuesday - What is Net Absorption?
You’ve probably heard the term “net absorption” when talking about the commercial real estate market—but what does it actually mean?
Simply put, net absorption measures the change in occupied commercial space over a specific period of time. When more space is leased than vacated, absorption is positive. When more space is vacated than occupied, it’s negative.
Why does it matter? 🏢 Net absorption can help property owners, investors, tenants, and brokers better understand leasing activity and the overall direction of a market.
At MAB Realty, we believe understanding the numbers behind the market helps our clients make more informed real estate decisions.
