Check our moon this month on February also this month 17 we will be having a solar eclipse.
February delivers an impressive series of celestial events beginning with the Full Snow Moon on February 1, visible across the world. Early in the month, the Moon passes in front of Regulus, the brightest star in Leo, creating a rare occultation visible in parts of North America and Africa, while others witness a close and striking alignment.
The highlight arrives on February 17 with an annular solar eclipse, producing a dramatic “Ring of Fire” effect as the Moon covers the Sun’s center. This rare event will be fully visible from Antarctica, while observers in southern South America and southern Africa will experience a partial eclipse, adding to the month’s extraordinary skywatching opportunities.
The month concludes with major planetary events, including a Venus and Mercury conjunction on February 26 and a rare six-planet alignment on February 28. Mercury, Venus, and Saturn will appear near the western horizon, while Jupiter, Uranus, and Neptune complete the display for telescope viewers. Source: NASA; Timeanddate ; Royal Astronomical Society.
