Please when you remodel a house, hire a professional license electrician to prevent instance like this when electricians power the sub panel directly off the lugs of the service panel. The subpanel power supply wires are not protected and undersized. Yes this it not the only issue here but it is the most serious.

These are a few Prime examples of why people should conduct new construction and one year warranty home inspections.

1. Hole in HVAC ducting allowing cold air to escape into attic.
2. Wires not hooked up in a smoke / carbon monoxide detector causing it not to work.
3. That is a load-bearing 2x8 roof beam resting on a 2x4 toenailed into a 2x6 and not to a load bearing wall.

It’s a banner year for “scrambled egg fungus” in mulch

I’ve been getting lots of emails and Facebook posts regarding a creepy, oozy fungus in mulch. I have discovered that almost 90% of the cases are directly related to extremely poor-quality mulch, and specifically black dyed mulch. Everyone please stay safe!!

A question we have been frequently asked is when are the roads going to open? The short answer is when it is safe. We don't anticipate that the major bridges (JFK and the Harbor Bridge) will be open until tomorrow afternoon. This will also include the freeway and major overpasses. We are continually monitoring the road conditions and will advise everyone when the roads are open. Please stay home where it is safe.
