Mark and I missed having Labor Day weekend together, so we made our own getaway this weekend and headed to Wimberley.

We had such a good time just slowing down and relaxing. Our Airbnb was nice, although we may have spoiled ourselves with the one we stayed at in Canyon Lake earlier this year.

One of my favorite parts was walking over to the area where Mark’s mom used to live. It was a 38-minute walk from where we stayed, so we got to revisit a meaningful place and I got my steps in on Saturday. Everybody wins.

Today has been a day. Actually, it started last night when I got home from golf and went to brush my teeth before bed. I turned on the bathroom faucet—nothing. No water from any faucet in the house.

The neighbors had water, so I called the City. Twenty minutes later, at about 10:30 at night: “Ma’am, you have a leak in your front yard.” Well, okay then. 😂

I started texting anyone I knew would still be awake, then started again at 7:00 this morning. Thankfully, I found someone willing to help—the same contractor already working to finish my latest flip before the photographer arrives tomorrow.

Then it was off to the post office to send a certified demand letter to former tenants because apparently I need proof of that before I can file my civil claim. And yes, there is more paperwork to complete. Of course there is. LOL.

Meanwhile, the A/C at one of my rentals needs attention. I couldn’t get a response from my regular A/C guy, but thankfully another company could go out this afternoon so I can get the property ready to show again.

Add in errands, lunch with the ladies—missing Jill—and more phone calls and more phone calls. Then I found out it’s my contractor’s birthday, and he’s spending it going back and forth between my plumbing problem and the flip. What a way to celebrate!

Whatever happened to quiet Wednesdays? I don’t mind a little excitement in my life, but this is not the kind of excitement I’m looking for. 😂
