The last Small Business Saturday Spotlight is Flour & Bloom, owned and operated by two incredible humans, and Chris Hawkins! 🥳🥳🥳

They are some of the kindest people you'll ever meet and I am so happy to spotlight her business here today!

We initially met Chris and Leslie after they called us to do a remodel on the property.
The story behind their property is out of a movie and has truly come full circle for their family.

We have since stayed connected and they have become good friends of ours. Chris and Leslie (and their family) are some of the sweetest people you will meet. They decided to turn a hobby into a business (sound familiar?😉) and started Flour & Bloom this past summer. Every Friday, they offer a beautiful flower bouquet and artisan dessert and exist to "bring joy to others through artisan desserts and gorgeous flowers." I'd say they've nailed that one!

I met Kerry after having Jordan in 2020 and we have since become close friends. She and her husband Doug, have the sweetest kids (her daughter is also our babysitter!), and are amazing contributors to the Corvallis community. They are some of the most amazing people you'll ever meet and I am so happy to spotlight her business here today!

About Restore Physical Therapy:

Dr. Kerry Boysen is the owner and physical therapist at Restore Physical Therapy. She has 25+ years of clinical experience in orthopedics and pelvic floor physical therapy, and she is passionate about women’s health and helping women restore function and achieve well being in all aspects of their life. She strives to truly understand the cause of each patient’s symptoms and to address the root cause.

Kerry is a graduate of Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa (BA in Biology, 1995), received her Master’s in Physical Therapy degree from The University of Iowa (1997), and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Western University of Health Sciences (2021).

Small Business Saturday Spotlight is here! 🥳🥳🥳

I am thrilled to share the first Business Spotlight, Areté Wood & Concrete. I initially met Chris when I reached out about a custom bench we needed built for a remodel project we were working on. He hand delivered the piece to the jobsite and we realized we had so much in common, including our backgrounds in Collegiate Athletics.

Chris and his wife, Rachel, run Arete Concrete & Wood together and work in and around Corvallis, Oregon. We utilize them for all custom work on our remodel and handyman projects and as much as I love their work, I love who they are more!

About Areté Wood & Concrete:

What began as a side hobby, has grown to a full fledged company. Chris began woodworking in 2014 with the intent of making gifts for family and friends. One project led to another, and in 2015 he officially started “Areté Woodworking” as a nights and weekend part-time business.

In 2017 he decided to go all in, leaving behind a career in strength and conditioning to pursue the endeavor of owning and operating the business full time. Furniture was the main focus in the beginning, and as his portfolio grew so did the jobs! He added decorative concrete and custom cabinetry to the mix in 2020, upon which the company grew to “Areté Wood & Concrete”. In early 2021 he hired his first employee, and now the company continues to grow as we continue to add team members!
