If you’re looking at new construction, here’s the advice I’d give you if we were sitting down over coffee:

Don’t let “brand new” be the reason you buy it.

Take your time. Look past the beautiful finishes and ask yourself how the home will actually work for your life.

Is the layout practical? Is there enough storage? What about the lot? The garage? The quality of the construction? And will you still love the choices you’re paying extra for five years from now?

New construction can be exciting, but you still want to make sure you’re buying the right home—not just a pretty one.
