So sad to see this. She was an inspiration to so many. RIP.
With Heavy Hearts, We Mourn the Loss of Elaine Bremner and Announce Leadership Transition at Verde Valley Senior Center
Cottonwood, AZ – It is with deep sadness that we share the unexpected passing of our beloved Executive Director, Elaine Bremner. Elaine faithfully served the Verde Valley Senior Center and our community with compassion, strength, and unwavering dedication since 1998. Her impact on our organization and the lives of countless local seniors cannot be overstated.
Elaine was not just a leader — she was a tireless advocate, a trusted friend, and a steady force of kindness and care. Her legacy lives on in every meal served, every conversation shared, and every senior whose life was touched by her generous heart.
In response to this sudden loss, and to ensure uninterrupted support for those we serve, the Board of Directors has appointed Erin Mabery as Interim Executive Director. Erin is a long-time Verde Valley resident and experienced nonprofit leader with a deep commitment to our community. Her immediate focus will be to uphold the quality and consistency of our senior nutrition programs — especially critical during the summer season.
Erin and the Board are working in close coordination with Elaine’s family and will share information on upcoming memorial events as plans are finalized. We ask the public to stay tuned for updates and join us when the time comes to honor Elaine’s remarkable life and legacy.
During this transition, while we are grateful for the outpouring of support, we respectfully ask that our staff and volunteers be given space to continue the important work Elaine so passionately led.
Please note: Dining room hours and meal delivery schedules will continue without interruption. Dining reservations can be made by calling 928-634-5450.
For those wishing to honor Elaine’s memory, donations can be mailed to: P.O. Box 681, Cottonwood, AZ 86326 or you can visit our website at https://verdevalleyseniorcenter.org/ . Your generosity will help continue the mission Elaine championed for over two decades.
Elaine Bremner gave her heart to this community for over 25 years. As we carry her vision forward, we remain committed to serving our seniors with the same grace, warmth, and integrity she exemplified every single day.
