Did you reach for a sweatshirt or coat today? So did our guests.

As temperatures begin to drop, the coat racks are back out at ESNKY, along with solar blankets and hand warmers.

And the need goes beyond our overnight shelter. Each day, employed and unemployed people come through our doors for a hot shower, clean laundry and connection to resources, while continuing to sleep outside, in cars or in other places not meant for habitation. With limited shelter beds across Northern Kentucky, not everyone who needs warmth will have a bed indoors.

So as you reach into your closet for that extra layer, think of our guests reaching for one, too.

Right now, we are accepting gently used adult lightweight coats and lightweight blankets.

Community support comes in many forms, and the Kenton County Rotary Club is showing up in more ways than one!

We are grateful to the Kenton County Rotary Club for a $2,500 grant to support ESNKY, made possible through their approved Rotary District Grant Application.

And they aren’t stopping there. Next Tuesday, Rotary members will be at ESNKY, rolling up their sleeves to prepare and serve dinner for our guests.

Financial support. Hands-on service. Community partnership. All working together to support our Life Saving, Life Changing mission.

Daytime group shout out! Thank you to Bishop Brossart High School for bringing a group to ESNKY yesterday!

A group of Bishop Brossart students and chaperones worked hard to clean bedrooms, clean up the block, prepare toiletries for showers, and organize our donations room. We are so grateful that these Bishop Brossart volunteers took the morning to learn about the shelter and help our community!

Daytime group shout out! Thank you to Celanese Corporation for bringing a group to ESNKY yesterday!

Celanese employee and ESNKY Board Member Harsh Patel organized his group to volunteer in shelter during Celanese’s Global Impact Month. They prepared the Wednesday snack, cleaned the bedrooms, made beds, and organized and handed out clothes in our donations room.

Sweatshirts!
the weather is getting cooler...

The Emergency Shelter of Northern Kentucky (ESNKY) needs sweatshirts, zip-ups, windbreakers, hoodies, and jackets of all adult sizes to give to our guests who are sheltering with us, living outside or in their car, or who come during the day to do their own laundry.

You can help by cleaning out your closet and/or organizing a donation drive with your company, school, or church! Every sweatshirt we collect helps save and change lives these fall and winter seasons.

Happy Labor Day!

Today, we recognize the contributions of workers who strengthen our communities every day, including the dedicated ESNKY team members who continue to show up 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

While our administrative offices are closed for Labor Day, our work continues.

We are especially grateful for our frontline team working today, and every day, to make sure our neighbors have a safe place to come through our doors.

It's not too late! The annual 14/7K Brewery Run is coming up this year and so is ESNKY's hydration station!

We will raise funds for the shelter by handing out drinks to runners. It’s fast-paced, exciting, and fun!
