Short Term Rental Tip: Unique Features can really help your rental stand out! Think fire pits for chilly nights, a killer lakeside BBQ setup, a hammock for those lazy days, and some board games for rainy days.
One thing I have been dying to see in a rental on the lake: a photo op or unique wall/mural where guests can take pictures! Set up a designated "selfie spot" where families can set there phone up on a tripod and get that family photo. Think outside the box!

Check out this Dolly Parton themed hotel called The Graduate in Nashville. I stayed here on my bachelorette specifically because I knew the rooms would be stunning and make a great backdrop for photos with my bridesmaids.

My husband proposed to me on the spot where we would one day build our first home together. This spot was actually where my great grandparents' original home once stood.
My family has been here since before the lake existed. My great-grandfather was a poor farmer in Crane Hill. He was also one of the workers who helped build the dam! When the lake flooded, he struck gold and his farmland that was worth next to nothing became prime waterfront property! Back then, though, the lake was not held in the same high esteem that it is today. My grandfather saw the lake's untapped potential - he knew that this lake was so beautiful and pristine that one day the rest of the world would catch on and this lake would be a destination for people from all over the country. And he was right!

And that's why they call it Crane Hill!

Have you considered building a tinyhome on Smith Lake? It’s a great idea! When you are at the lake, if you want to spend all your time on the water, and very little time indoors, a tiny cabin might be a great option for you. Especially as a secondary home for smaller families.
One important thing to remember: if you are buying a lot with the intention to build a tiny home, make sure the lots you are looking at are UNRESTRICTED! Restrictions may prevent you from building something unless it is above the required square ft.

Short Term Rental Tip: A dock isn't just a bonus—it's a game-changer for your short-term rental! A dock is imperative for a short term rental. What should you leave at the dock for guests? Water toys, canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards are a nice touch!
Bonus tip: give guests a list of boat rental spots nearby BEFORE they check in so they can arrange their rental before they arrive.
