Avalon Farms is the first phase of one of the newest subdivisions on Smith Lake, located in Cullman County, Alabama.

The history of Avalon Farms:
You will own a piece of history with a lot at Avalon Farms. Avalon Farms was the Homestead of James Calvert in 1865. We have the original copy of the Homestead deed signed by President Grover Cleveland. President Cleveland was the only president to get elected & serve a term, run again & was defeated, but then run again & elected to serve another 4 year term. President Donald Trump was the next president to do the same. The Calvert family has been a part of the Crane Hill community in Cullman County since 1865, and will remain a part for many years to come.
About the lot’s in Avalon Farms:
The lots at Avalon Farms are all large, gentle sloping lots located in a large cove just off of the main body of Smith Lake named Clinton’s Branch. Clinton’s Branch has idle speed only buoys a little past the lots so large boat traffic stays minimal. The gentle sloping lots allow for no steps to the walkway of your dock. Unlike many other gentle sloping lots on Smith Lake, Avalon Farms has very deep water within 30 feet of the entrance of your dock walkway. This assures that no part of your dock will be close to touching the bottom, even during the full winter draw down of the lake. Avalon Farms lots are located within 2 miles of one of the largest marinas on the lake, making any boat service or gas for your boat just a short ride away. The lots are also located within 2 ½ miles of Smith Lake Dam which is one of the largest earthen dams in the eastern United States. The lots are located on a very central part of Smith Lake making it easy to get to any of the restaurants on the lake, with more planned in the future being even closer to Avalon Farms. The lots at Avalon Farms were designed for the lot owner instead of the developer. All lots were designed with 100 feet or more of building space at each building site (minus the 5 feet building setbacks), giving the owner the decision to build a large house or a house on the smaller side, leaving privacy on each side. All building sites are close to the water, again with only a sidewalk to your dock, making your lake experience relaxing & enjoyable instead of a cardio workout. Each lot at Avalon Farms has its own road entrance, leaving the decision to concrete, gravel or asphalt completely up to the lot owner. It also gives each lot the opportunity to have a gate at their entrance if your lot will just be a Summer time weekend getaway. Avalon Farms is in Cullman County which has the closest access to I-65 of any county bordering Smith Lake. The City of Cullman is growing at a great rate with abundant shopping, entertainment, dining & a large, well established hospital.

-All lots have been approved by the Cullman County Engineering Department.
-All lots have been approved by the Cullman County Commission.
-All lot’s have direct access to a Cullman County maintained road.
-All lot’s have an approved percolation test on file at the Cullman County Health Department.
-All lots have underground power.
-All lots have been approved by Alabama Power Company Shoreline Management for the maximum sized dock allowed on Smith Lake which is a double slip dock with a swim pier.
-Minimum building size will be 2,000 sq ft on the main floor.
