Who woke up this morning thinking, “Today’s the day I lose my edge”?
No one.
And that’s the scary part.
It doesn’t happen intentionally. It happens quietly. Daily. If you’re not paying attention.
In Napoleon Hill’s Outwitting the Devil, there’s an interview with the devil. Not a literal one. A metaphor. The devil represents fear-based, negative, limited thinking. The interviewer wants to know how human potential gets hijacked.
The answer is simple: drift.
Drift doesn’t announce itself. It doesn’t tap you on the shoulder. It creeps in when ex*****on turns into explanation. When intention replaces action.
That’s drift.
So how do you prevent it?
1. Get brutally clear and specific about your goals.
2. Start each day visualizing where you want to be by the end of the year.
3. Distraction is inevitable. Let it happen — just don’t let it carry you away.
When you notice you’re off course, come back to center quickly.
Notice what you’re noticing.Be kind to yourself.
Don’t ignore the small daily wins. They compound.
You can listen to the disempowered voice of fear…
or you can listen to the quiet inner guidance, the knower who already knows.
Because here’s the truth:If you’re not scaling, you’re slipping.
