To get pre-approved, your income and employment must be verified, as well as your debts and assets. So what do you need to gather?

-W2/paystubs
-proof of assets
-driver's license and social security number
-recent tax returns
-proof of additional income
-bank statements and investing account statements
-proof of employment and employer contact information
-any additional paperwork requested by lender

What’s your definition of success? Have you thought about it?

We’re always running toward success but have you ever stopped to ask yourself what that means?

Are you zip-lining in Costa Rica? On a beach in Hawaii? Does your version of success include a 6 or 7-figure empire? Building a legacy for your family? Or is it simply to have more time for them?

For me, it’s being able to define how I spend my days. If you know me, you know how much I love to travel. Being able to travel when and where I want is extremely important to me. Life is short and I want to spend it exploring the world! Spending time with my family/friends and being able to help them out when they need it, is another way I define success. Material things are great and some define success by how many things they have. I define success with how much time I can dedicate to the things and people I love.

I define success in my business by making my clients happy. I believe that buying your first home should be a smooth process but that isn't always the case. So making sure my clients understand what they are doing, feel comfortable with their decisions before making them, and of course, to get them into their new homes to make memories. All of that of course is part of the job but my favorite part is knowing that folks trusted me to make their dream come true and giving referrals is another way to show how trusted I am in the field. I love what I do and I love making my clients dream of homeownership come true.

Success is something I’ve grappled with, partly because my view of it looks different than how I was raised. And it took me a while to learn that BEING successful means ACCEPTING the success you have already achieved – in every area of your life.

No one wants to "declutter" but it is necessary sometimes. Here are my top tips for getting motivated to get it done!

Listen To Music
Whether you choose the radio, an mp3 player, or your favorite playlist on the computer, music will help you be more excited about cleaning. Choose upbeat music, it will make your work faster and as an added benefit it can count as light exercise.

Wear Real Clothes
Not your best clothes of course, but not pajamas. Really getting dressed down to comfy shoes can help tell your mind that you've got work to do. If you start cleaning in your bed pants and house shoes, it may be more difficult to take the work seriously, and therefore get it done quickly.

Set a Deadline
Invite someone over for dinner. You'll be more motivated to clean because you have to get it done by a certain time. Be careful to give yourself enough time to actually get your cleaning done. You can also use a timer. This works really well with kids. Try to beat your last "record" for cleaning. Kids will actually get excited trying to beat the clock.

Give Yourself a Reward
This can be something you purchase..."If I finish my daily cleaning, I can buy that new book I've been wanting." Or, it can be time doing something you really enjoy..."When the master closet is reorganized, I can spend two hours scrapbooking." Creating a reward for yourself when you've finished a dreaded chore can be a great motivating tool.

The best way to understand amortization is by reviewing an amortization table. If you have a mortgage, the table was included with your loan documents.

An amortization table is a schedule that lists each monthly loan payment as well as how much of each payment goes to interest and how much to the principal. Every amortization table contains the same kind of information:

Scheduled payments: Your required monthly payments are listed individually by month for the length of the loan.
Principal repayment: After you apply the interest charges, the remainder of your payment goes toward paying off your debt.
Interest expenses: Out of each scheduled payment, a portion goes toward interest, which is calculated by multiplying your remaining loan balance by your monthly interest rate.

Although your total payment remains equal each period, you'll be paying off the loan's interest and principal in different amounts each month. At the beginning of the loan, interest costs are at their highest. As time goes on, more and more of each payment goes toward your principal, and you pay proportionately less in interest each month.

Since we're heading back into school season, here are some tips about school bus safety rules for children, parents, and school bus drivers.

Safety tips for children and parents
Review bus stop rules such as waiting away from the road and always crossing in front of the bus, not behind.
Wait with the little ones at the bus stop. Make sure you and your child are visible.
Teach your kids to stand, at a minimum, three giant steps from the curb and board one at a time using the handrail when getting on and off the bus.

Teach your child the importance of behaving on the bus since any disruption can cause the bus driver to become distracted and could result in a crash.

Safety tips for drivers
Follow the speed limit and laws, especially in school zones and at bus stops.
Never drive distracted or use a phone or device while driving.
Pay attention to flashing lights and never pass another vehicle with the stop-arm extended.
Slow down and watch for children walking in the street, especially when there are no sidewalks.
When backing out of a driveway or leaving a garage, watch out for children walking or bicycling to school.
