What We Love About Our Home at 16 Locust Glen Court:
One of the most special things we love about this home are its many outdoor entertainment areas: from the large deck with privacy panels, to the fire pit area, the farmer's porch (a great place to sit and watch
and enjoy a beautiful thunderstorm), and the enclosed patio off of the great room (which offers complete privacy and relaxing escape from the stresses of ordinary life). The places outside have been exceptional for entertaining, and the inside of the home has been great as well, having seen many
Thanksgiving dinners, and many other holidays and family events.
The Cul-de-Sac location offers safety and privacy, an amazing area for children to play with their friends or for learning how to ride a bike; it's been a mutual meeting place to converse with our neighbors, be it during a cookout or block party, a neighborhood yard sale (which we have successfully held numerous times), or just a place to share our daily experiences and stories.
When our son was young and attending school, it was so wonderful having his bus stop on the street directly in back of us. We could watch him from the kitchen greenhouse window as he got off and on the bus and walked straight home. Elementary, middle, and high schools are close by, and it made it
easy to drop him off and pick him up at school if he didn't take the bus, whether it was driving or even sometimes walking on a nice day.
It has been so wonderfully convenient having highway access, such as I-295 and I-95, via Rt 37, just moments away. We are located in a spectacularly central area very near to all kinds of shopping (Garden City, Chapel View, Rt. 2, the malls, et al...), schools, restaurants, banks, etc., and it is a short drive to the airport and commuter/AmTrak connections, which our family has used many times commuting to Boston and other large cities.
During the Fall, the landscape transforms into a living painting, it is so beautiful to look out our windows and see all of the trees changing colors (true New England foliage), and during the 4th of July, we have sat outside at the firepit or deck to watch neighborhood firework displays that have rivaled those presented by professionals.
As for sense of community and our neighbors, everything has been so terrific, the people here are great, ready and willing to help out whenever we need a helping hand.
