Today, our students entered a new era at WHS as they began their first day of school in the new Career Academy building, where they will be prepared for an amazing future in Career and Technical Education.

This could not have been possible without the vision and dedication of staff who wrote grants, ensuring our local Wakulla County Taxpayers would not have their property taxes raised to cover the construction cost.

This ~$20 million grant from Triumph, along with the ~$65 million Special Facilities grant from the State, equated to over 30 mils of property taxes that our residents do not have to pay.

For me personally, this saves my family over $7,000, and I’m grateful to our talented team who continue to work tirelessly to make our entire district a better place for students while being as efficient as possible with our funding!
