Ideally, the entire wall should be painted before a fixture such as an adjustable mirror is installed. But if the hardware absolutely has to go up first, and you’re installing a mirror that swings away from the wall (or there’s a solid 3” gap between mirror and wall), please have the painter come back and paint behind it.

It’s a small detail, but those small details make a BIG difference in the finished product.😊
