Important updates to the Florida Hometown Heroes Housing Program! First-time homebuyers might be eligible for significant assistance for purchasing your primary residences!

Program Highlights:

The Florida Hometown Heroes Housing Program provides down payment and closing cost assistance to income-qualified, first-time homebuyers who are employed full-time (35+ hours per week) in Florida.

Here's what the program offers:

Up to 5% of your total loan amount (maximum of $35,000) in assistance.
This assistance comes as a 0%, non-amortizing, 30-year deferred second mortgage.
The minimum down payment assistance available is $10,000.
Important 2025 Updates:

The Florida Legislature recently passed the 2025-2026 Fiscal Year Budget, which includes $50 million in new funding for the Hometown Heroes Loan Program. However, it also introduces significant changes. This budget is awaiting Governor DeSantis's final review and approval.

As it currently stands, the 2025 Hometown Heroes Loan Program will be limited to borrowers employed full-time by a Florida-based employer in the following eligible occupations:

Healthcare worker
School staff member
First responder
Public safety employee
Court employee
Childcare worker
A servicemember of the United States military or military reserves, the United States Coast Guard or its reserves, or the Florida National Guard
A veteran employed full-time by a Florida-based employer
Eligibility Requirements:

To qualify, buyers must:

Be employed full-time (as determined by the employer) by a Florida-based employer with a physical location in Florida.
Work from or report to that physical location.
If working from home, buyers must report to or work out of a specific Florida location.
