I am thankful every day for Greg’s strength, his perseverance, and his leadership - while at the same time he is so schmoopy over the ones he loves, especially me, our kids, and now our grandkids. Your grandpa probably told you to put a Hereford bull on those black cows, and now a university has proved him right.

The University of Illinois spent years following the daughters of 600 Angus cows. The white-faced baldie heifers raised a first calf 90 percent of the time. The straight black heifers managed 76.

That's 14 more calves out of every 100 heifers. The old-timers didn't have spreadsheets. They had eyes, and they paid attention to which cows were still out there every spring.
