Gunnison County had a busy and encouraging week in real estate from September 14–20, 2026! The market recorded 14 new listings, 15 new sales, and an impressive $33,346,500 in total sales volume. Compared with the previous week, when there were 16 new listings, 12 new sales, and $12,635,500 in sales volume, this week brought fewer new properties to the market but significantly more closed sales and a substantial increase in overall dollar volume. In fact, sales volume increased by more than $20 million week over week, showing that several higher-value transactions contributed to a particularly strong week across Gunnison County. It’s another great reminder that even as we head into fall, there continues to be meaningful activity among buyers and sellers throughout the valley.

Gunnison County’s real estate market picked up the pace last week, with 16 new listings, 12 new sales, and $12,635,500 in total sales volume from September 7–13. Compared with the previous week’s 16 new listings, 10 sales, and $8,967,000 in volume, inventory held steady while sales increased 20% and sales volume jumped about 41%. That’s a great way to move into September! The stronger dollar volume shows that some higher-value properties contributed to last week’s activity, while the steady flow of new listings continues to give buyers options. Gunnison County wrapped up the final full week of August with 11 new listings, 13 new sales, and an impressive $11,419,095 in total sales volume! Compared with the previous week, when there were 8 new listings, 17 new sales, and $29,504,800 in sales volume, this week brought more fresh inventory and just four fewer closed sales. While the dollar volume was lower than the previous week—which was boosted by several larger transactions—the continued pace of 13 sales shows that buyers and sellers are still actively making moves. The increase in new listings is also a positive sign for buyers looking for opportunities, giving the market a little more breathing room as we transition from the peak of summer toward fall. Recent market data also continues to show that Gunnison remains an active, competitive market, with homes selling at about 97% of asking price on average in August.

In August 2026, the Gunnison County real estate market saw increased buyer activity, stronger pending sales, and continued growth in inventory compared with last year. Pending sales rose to 55, up 27.9% from July and 25.0% year-over-year, signaling increased activity heading into the fall. Single-family home prices, however, softened compared with August 2025, with the average sales price reaching $1,830,110, down 12% year-over-year, while the median sales price was $1,199,000, down 14%.
