⚠️ Important Reminder for St. Louis County Seniors: The Property Tax Freeze Must Be Renewed Every Year
If you're a senior homeowner in St. Louis County, here's an important reminder that could save you hundreds—or even thousands—of dollars on your property taxes.
The deadline to apply for or renew your Senior Property Tax Freeze has been extended to Friday, July 10, 2026.
One of the biggest misconceptions about the program is that once you're approved, you're automatically enrolled forever.
That's not the case.
The Senior Property Tax Freeze must be renewed each year. If you don't submit your renewal application, you could lose the benefit and see your property tax bill increase.
Even if you submit your application, there may be questions or additional documentation required before your renewal can be approved.
If you or someone you know is age 62 or older and eligible for the Senior Property Tax Freeze, don't assume everything is taken care of.
✔️ Submit your application or renewal.
✔️ Watch for any requests from the County for additional information.
✔️ Make sure your application is approved before the deadline.
The deadline is Friday, July 10, 2026.
You can apply or renew by visiting the St. Louis County website:

Please share this post with your parents, neighbors, relatives, and friends. A simple reminder today could help someone avoid an unexpected property tax increase later this year.
