6 Trends Shaping Real Estate in 2026

Halfway through 2026, here are six real estate trends we’ve seen so far.

-More Choices for Buyers. While inventory varies by market, the number of homes for sale across the broader Mid-Atlantic has increased by over 10 percent since mid-last year. With more homes on the market, buyers have more options to choose from.

-Mortgage Rates Hold Steady. The 30-year fixed mortgage rate has held steady in the low- to mid-6s for 2026. As our partners at Prosperity Home Mortgage often remind buyers, a mortgage rate isn’t permanent, but you don’t want to miss your dream home while waiting for a lower rate.
