LITTE ROCK, AR
DARLA MELISSA (NIXON) HARPER
❄️COLD CASE❄️

Darla Melissa (Nixon) Harper was 25 when she went missing from Little Rock, Arkansas on March 4,1986. The dedicated young woman had graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1977, and worked as a licensed abstractor for her father's business. Next came two years at the University of Little Rock. When she was 21, she was hired by the IRS as a personnel clerk- a title she held until her disappeareance. She married Barry Harper, and had a beautiful daughter. She seemed to be on her way to a happy future, until her marriage soured, and as of the night in question, the couple had been separated for four months. On the evening of her disappeareance, she had a visit with neighbors, with them leaving around 9 pm. The same neighbors heard noises around 11 pm coming from her Gravel Ridge residence- they describe it as furniture being thrown, and called to check on her, but hung up right away so as not to wake her 2 1/2 year old daughter- they never called police. The next morning, when she didn't arrive for work, a co-worker was sent to check on her. There was blood on the front door, and the toddler was alone. (Had furniture been thrown around?) Her muddy car was found abandoned some 9 miles away in a Crystal Hills commuter lot, with a set of fingerprints inside ( whose were they?!) Over the years, several excavations have taken place in the area where she was last seen, and Barry's home, to no avail. Barry eventually remarried, and has since passed away. She was born on July 2, 1960, 5'3", 115 pounds, light brown hair and brown eyes, a burn scar on her left elbow, a small scar on her right cheek, and last seen wearing a pullover shirt, jeans, a diamond "horseshoe" shaped ring, a diamond cluster ring, and a "teardrop" diamond pendant. Darla was declared dead in 1991.

Dentals and Dna are available in her case. NCIC -1876-16677. Pulaski County Sheriff's Office (501)340-6963, Agency Case #86-03487.
